Third Watch by Bodie & Brock Thoene

These novels can be considered both inspirational and historical fiction. This is the third book in the series A.D. Chronicles, and are a continuation of the Zion Legacy series that the authors wrote with another publisher. (I have not read any of the Zion Legacy novels.)

If you do not like a lot of scripture quoted in your novel, these books are not for you. The authors have used the scripture to enhance their story. They have also taken considerable time and effort to present many of the parallels between scripture and the traditions of the chosen people, Jews.

These novels are about some of the people Jesus healed during the last year that he was on earth. There are several characters that keep reappearing in the novels, especially Peniel a blind beggar who was healed in the first book. The novels pull you into the lives of its many characters right away. You read the different stories of several characters going on simultaneously and wonder how the stories will all come together.

These novels have a balanced mix of dialogue and description. Each novel varies in length, but none are short books. If the reader gets pulled into the characters lives the novels are hard to put down.
